No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"I had great hopes for my device but from the outset I was upset by the support I purchased the device and the clamshell keyboard but found a connectivity issue this was aggravated by the lack of knowledge about this new product.
I had hoped for a faultless product and it seems this has the right idea but there are shortcomings.
Firstly the Hard disk of 64GB is not enough for a machine of this price it seems elsewhere in Europe this size is available.
Secondly the screen has great resolution but takes time to set up to read especially when using software such as Outlook.
The constant noise of the keyboard disconnecting and reconnecting whilst trying to type was problematic but if trying to use the touchscreen keyboard on email the screen is lost to the keyboard so you cannot see the body of the email beyond one line.
I did try altering this but it did not seem to function.
I tried the Spad app but could to get it to convert written words in to text I may have missed something but assumed this was supposed to be intuitive.
We also had issues over the machine recognising the sim card from Vodaphone for data.
The screen and video display were fine and we did buy a superthin Samsung DVD recorder / Player which plugged in via the USB to playback good pictures although putting the USB on top of the slate in my view was not a perfect move as the cable then dangles behind.
With help from the Supplier and nearly 1 hour on the phone I got number to return this.
I really wanted this to work as I specifically want a Windows 8 Tablet and not one from 'Another' company.
However the Hard disk will have to be larger as soon as it is I will try to buy a 128 or 256 GB version."
