No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"The machine we got, the "Samsung Ecobubble WD0804W8E Freestanding 1400 RPM washer dryer in white / stainless steel" looks great, but there are some issues with it.
First of all, if the power button is accidentally pressed, or there is a power cut, the machine does not resume the cycle once powered back on. Our previous machine that was 7 years old could remember where it was. Why can't a brand new appliance from Samsung?
When a cycle is selected and started, the machine does not allow any changes. It will not allow us to change the temperature, spin speed, amount of rinses or even add or remove a dry cycle. Why? Again, our old machine did all of this.
There is no option do do half or a mini-load. Why?
After a dry cycle, there is a large amount of fluff in the door seal. This has to be removed manually after each use, and is NOT mentioned in the user manual.
Most importantly, the drying does not work well. Today I put in 8 plain white T-shirts, short-sleeves, to wash and dry. After an hour of washing and then over 2,5 hours on the "cupboard dry" cycle, the items still came out wet. I had to dry them for yet another hour to get them out dry. This is not acceptable.
Samsung's customer support has been useless - I am so disappointed in their generic, irrelevant responses that I would seriously think twice before buying another Samsung device ever again."
