I would recommend this to a friend!
"I have purchased this TV and do not regret it! It is extremely SMART with things like motion control, voice control and facial recognition. You can even turn on the TV with just your voice! It has apps available which you can download like Angry Birds which is based on motion control. There could be slightly more apps but there will probably be more in the future. It also has things like YouTube, BBC iPlayer and ITV Player. It is absolutly wonderful and I highly recommend it!!! It is probably the best TV which you can currently buy and I certainly don't regret it!"
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, unlike anything else out there
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good TV but serious limitations

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"In a lit room you will probably not be disappointed - it if definately full featured and impressive but if you in a darkened room or watch programmes that have lots of dark scenes, you may notice serious problems with the backlighting. It is uneven and can display what I can only describe a a clody haze in areas that are supposed to be black. Once you see it you will be forever looking out for it. At the price I lexpect far far better."

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"I got this TV based on good online reviews. The features on it are unparalleled, the picture quality and sharpness with HD sources, in general, is nothing short of jaw-dropping. With SD sources the picture can suffer due to the sharpness of the screen. The big issue as mentioned in other customer reviews is the totally unacceptable screen uniformity. Anything with a solid colour on screen shows up some pretty major vertical banding, and once it's seen it can't be unseen. I had my screen changed under Samsung warranty but the replacement was exactly the same. It is a shame because banding issues aside, this set has produced some of the best images I have ever seen on a TV. I eventually got it exchanged for a Samsung 64" Plasma (E8000) and I'm extremely happy with it (Despite losing the difference in price which the seller refused to refund). I have spoken with a lot of people online with the same banding issues on this set who have returned them to Samsung but despite this Samsung still appear to be churning out faulty sets. What are you thinking Samsung? Way to ruin your own rep!"

Banding issues and terrible micro dimming

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"Bought this TV based on reviews. What a disappointment it has turned out to be. Lovely TV, looks great on the wall. Initial Iimpressions are good. Picture quality Iis great although whites can be a little bright and unnatural. However the moment you watch something that has a large area of uniform colour like a football match or a skyline or ocean you will see the most horrendous banding running down the screen as the picture pans about. Trust me when I say that once youve notice it you see it everywhere and it ruins the experience of what should be a great TV. Google Banding to find out more about the issue. But it doesnt stop there. Samsung also sells this TV as having a micro dimming funtion...and so it does. What they dont tell you is that it is a clever way of covering up the issues of clouding and trying to get blacks blacker. So you may say...whats the problem with that. The issue is that you TV when switching from dark to light scenes and vice versa is constantly dimming and brightening the picture. This is very noticeable especially with things like credits at the beginning or endings of movies and programmes. Instead of a lovely bright vivid text the screen will dim right down so that the text is an almost hard to view grey. Whats more annoying is that you see the TV do this as initially as it transistions from the bright to the dark scene everything will be lovely and bright before the TV then steps in and dims everything to keep blacks blacker. I really cant tell you how this messes with you head.
One final thing. I would like to state that I noticed none of this in the brightly lit store when I bought the TV. Its something that came to light once you start using it and especially in a dark room.
To Samsung....i really dont understand why you sell a TV which so obviously isnt fit for purpose. I can understand it being a technology shortfall and that this is the best you can do on this size of screen. But at the end of the day for the money we are spending if you cant produce a TV thats acceptably fit for purpose then you just shouldnt do it. I love your brand and my TVs before have all been Samsung but now youve completely shaken my belief in you. Its a complete backstep from your Plasma screens. TVs when banding issues like this one just clearly shouldnt even be on the shelves for us to buy."

Severe banding, now on third TV

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"I am so disappointed with this TV.
I brought the TV because in the store its looked beautiful very thin, sharp image, lots of features.
However I am now on my third panel as every set I have owned has had extreme banding, thick dark vertical bands cross the screen every time the camera pans round. Its worse on some backgrounds green being the worse, which makes footaball, and golf vertically unwatchable.
It also suffers from clouding in the corners, I wish Samsung had spent more on making the panel perfect instead of wasting money on voice and motion control which don’t work very well anyway.
Im going to request another panel but am not holding my breath because it seems I am not the only one with the banding issue."

Terrible problem with vertical banding when watching moving pictures

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"The TV is fine on static images but if you look closely you wil see vertical banding. All images have some degree of vertical shaded lines running down the screen and it is particularly noticable whe watching an image with constant colour across the screen, like the green of a football pitch. The faster the images move the worse this banding gets. It is like watching a football match through a heavy rain storm. Changing settings does not fix the issue. Same effect can be seen on all sources, including from Xbox and USB port. I had the screen replaced but it didn't fix the issue. Now waiting for a replecement TV. If that doesn't fix the issue I will be looking for a refund."

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"I have tried to reveiw this TV on two other occations but was told they could not be posted.
I will keep it short to try to get the review posted though for me there were a lot of issues with the picture quality..
The TV will show images with horizonal lines running down the screen. The faster the images move the worse this looks and for sport the TV is near unwatchable. No matter how much you change the settings this will always happen.
I have returned my TV to the retailer as I copuld not use it."
