"The 2013 Samsung F6800 is a stunning looking top of the mid tier range full 1080p led smart tv that is packed full of features, and to be honest the F6800's feature set isn't too far removed from Samsungs even higher end F7000/F8000 models and comes with not one but two remote controls, although there are the obvious price and aesthetic design differences.
One things for sure the F6800 shares many of the excellent colour calibration and picture settings found on it's higher end brethren, allowing you to tweak virtually every aspect of the TV's picture to near D6500K perfection.
Motion is handled pretty well by the F6800's dual core processors especially when viewing HD content although I have noticed the odd stutter when veiwing certain TV broadcasts, the good news is that this issue can be remedied by playing around with options such as the motion plus, motion lighting, and other video processing features.
For people concerned about input lag the F6800 features a games mode for console gaming, though using this feature will reduce some graphical effects as a trade off *apparently by renaming any of the four hdmi ports to (pc or dvi pc) you can further lower input lag beyond that of games mode.
There's a sports mode too that enhances the picture and helps improves screen refresh rates and includes live social media updates via your facebook or twitter accounts unless turned off.
Being a full 3D capable TV the active 3D works well and even though I have yet to calibrate my set for optimum 3D viewing, the images appear to be very sharp with little or no apparent crosstalk.
2D to 3D is possible but obviously does not give the same eye popping effect as the active 3D experience.
The provided 3D active shutter glasses are very light weight although turning them on via the extremely tiny power button located on the top of the glasses requires a bit of finger precision.
The F6800 features several audio presets, along with DTS tru-surround, DTS Tru-dialog, 3D sound, and a built-in graphic equalizer to adjust sound according to your own personal taste, there's even a sound share option to allow wireless connection to soundbars etc.
Connectivity options are abundant on the F6800 featuring built-in wifi, bluetooth, 4 hdmi ports, 3 usb ports, 1 scart socket, 1 ethernet port, 1 set of component inputs, 1 optical port, satellite/cable TV input etc.
The smart TV functions are also plentiful with a wealth of apps and on demand services included to boot.
and the smart feature don't stop there, This TV has voice control bulit-in that while it sounds gimmicky can actually be quite useful in finding movies/shows simply by saying an actor/actresses/directors name etc, or getting it to search for specific content or channels even load apps simply by speaking into one of the two included remote controllers that features a handy mouse like trackpad allowing you to pull off certain gesture such as changing channel simply by writing the numbers on the remote with your fingers, or using it as a universal remote to control other devices etc.
Improved gesture control and Skype video calling is also supported by the 2013 Samsung F6800, though it requires the optional Samsung VG-STC3000 usb camera to do this.
Overall I have to say that I'm impressed with the 55 inch variant of the F6800 (the model I purchased) it has great image quality, a wealth of apps, streaming and connectivity options along with decent sound capable of producing high quality audio with convincing clarity and depth, that in many ways manages to surpass my old 2007 Samsung (F86) LCD with its front firing speakers and built-in subwoofer.
Sure the F6800 isn't all perfect, there are some slight motion issues from the 400hz panel mostly when viewing TV broadcasts. But with its excellent picture calibration settings these niggles can be virtually eliminated."

Great TV, don't like the legs at each end - prefer central pillar. Series link doesn't work.

"Great picture using freeview and freesat. I don't like the legs at each end. It means you need a surface the same width as the TV. The central pillar is much more efficient and attractive. The pvr works fine but the fact that series link will not work on freesat or freeview renders it useless for my needs."
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations
