Good product let down by ridiculous flaw

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"This monitor looks good, is light yet sturdy and the picture is very good for the price. It is let down by a ridiculously bright blue LED on the front lower right of the bezel all the time you are viewing. When the computer goes into standby, the LED then flashes continuously, which is almost as annoying. There seems to be no way to prevent either of these behaviours, so I covered it with a patch of electrician's tape. Simple and effective, but why should I have to resort to this?"
