Choose a camcorder that you’ll feel confident to take with you wherever you go. The Samsung W300 digital camcorder is designed to withstand dust, shocks and immersion in up to 3 metres of water. The useful Switch Grip feature also delivers flexibility for all preferences and situations, letting you operate the camcorder with your right hand, left hand or holding it upside-down. Even a lack of light won’t spoil shooting, thanks to an ultra-bright F2.2 lens and 5MP Back Side Illuminated CMOS sensor.

"i live in Portugal, last year i´ve bought in London a HMX-W300 sports camera with dust, water and shock proof. But when i came back to Portugal i found out that the next model hmx-w350 has a sports pack that cames along with it, including a floating bumper. From the reviews i´ve read all over the internet, i´ve became very afraid that the USB ports may open on the water, then bye bye camera! I´m very disapointed with this situation....any one knows where can i buy a floating bumper online??"
Pros: espectacular performance
Cons: danger usb ports, doesn´t came with a floating bumper

Not waterproof
Posted11 February 2013
"My second one. Took my first into my pool and after it didn't work the same. Some buttons got messed up and i could no longer shut it off, change modes, etc. After a couple of days, plugged it in to dry it out. Went in water again and the same issues. Took it back and got another because the vid is clear and it is easy to use for a good price. Just won't submerge it anymore."
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality, not waterproof

"I was excited when I bought this product to video friends wake boarding and tubing. Very dissapointed with most of the results due to a flaw in the focus mechanism. sometimes it will focus and be crystal clear and impressive but often the image is very hazy regardless of zooming in or out. changed from 780 p to 1080 and no change."
On a 1 to10 scale and 10 being tops, I give it a minus1, oh that has to be a 1!

"O.K. it’s designed to withstand all that they say it can, and I am sure that it could if you don’t use it as it’s meant to be used! What I am getting at is my first opportunity to take the HMX W300 into the water to film and take still images ended in a huge disappointment. I found out the hard way that it took in water in a big way, no it soaked up water in a huge way! Why, well, as I am handling it, placing it in my swimming trunks, swimming , moving about and then pulling it back out to do more shooting, at some point I, yea, me, myself I, accidently opened the USB port and of course water rushed in and now I have no idea if I’ll get my images since it’s totally soaked. The point of my story is that the designers that came up with the locking mechanism never tried it out in the water because they would have found out that if you really want to concentrate on the moment, on the excitement, if you really are thinking more about capturing the action you simply, no you must remember that you need to be very careful how you “pull it out” to start shooting. So the point of my story is learn from my mistake! If you always remember to be careful handling the camera, especially in the water, then I am sure it will perform as it is billed, I think!? So would I recommend it, NO!"
