"I've had this phone nearly a year and lots of my friends ask me if I have a Blackberry but I can happily say I don't and it saves me about £15 a month with the contract I'm on compared to my friend who has a Blackberry. I'd recommend this phone to anyone who has wifi and is often uses the internet."

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"When I first wrote my review last june I only knew just a few of Ch@t 335's apps and pros. Now I've been using it for over 7 months I can say it's a brilliant device, I even managed to download a video converting program in order to upload and watch videos on it and I'm glad to say I'm very happy with my purchase.

Ive had it for bout 2 weeks now and i love it already :)
Im personally a texter so the querty keyboard is perfect to do what i want to do; the WIFI is fab too seen as now and then my laptop doesnt want to work.
If anybody wanted a blackberry but couldnt afford it chose this ! Honestly i wanted a blackberry but couldnt afford it so i got the next best thing- THIS !! And i love it! :D"

"i brought this phone cause i broke my old phone so i brought this because it looked nice and i could hold it properly and it was cheap for all the features on it.
it DOESN'T have 3G but dont let that put you off because it has wi-fi but i dont use it cause i reckon that the internet is just as fast as it is with the wi-fi on so its a good QWERTY keyboard phone and i recomend it"

"I bought this as a replacement to my old brick-phone, I wanted a smart looking phone at an affordable price, this phone is super value for money. Took a little bit of time to get used to the QWERTY keys, and the optical trackpad (my first time ever using one of these). The music system is awesome, and I love the fact it has the 3.5mm headphone jack so there is no messing about with different sets of headphones. The Wi-fi is surprising good, fast and simple to use - just connect and go. For the price I paid, this phone was great value for money, simple yet stylish, and does the job perfectly."

"It's a great phone, I've had it since last September and it's lasted me well! the wifi makes it easy to browse and it is a lovely slim design. The things that aren't too good are the keypad can only be locked by pressing one key, and i accidentaly called people in the past and wasted credit, also if you send a message to the wrong person you can't cancel it and the facebook and twitter apps aren't that good. But apart from that it's a fab phone and the typing training game on it is really benificial!"

"I love the phone - had no problems with texting or calling. Only problem is when sending a text, the noise is extremely annoying. It's also impossible (I have researched this and there isn't a way) to switch off (unless in silent mode). So it always makes an annoying twiddling noise.
Messages also can't be cancelled when sending, even though the option is there.
And under the 'conversation' option, it only shows snippets, which can be difficult to figure out which text it is your looking for.
Apart from that, it's a fabulous phone. I would recommend it. But given the choice, I'd perhaps choose one without the annoying tone."

"I bought it one month ago and I must say it's a very good phone, not as "smart" as a real smartphone yet very close. Design is super, WiFi is OK in proper spots, calls and text OK, Photos and Music really satisfying. Only flaw: it doesn't support all of the files it's supposed to do. I mean I managed to download or tranfer just a few of the mp4 or 3gp videos i'd have liked to. As for the missing USB cable I replaced it with the one which went with an old cell i had and it does work!"

"I got this phone because it had IM, but when we loaded it up in the shop IM did not appear. When we looked closely at the box it said that IM wasn't available on all networks. I connected it to 02 as it was the only network it was available on. befor you buy anything always read the small print! But appart from that it was fine!"

"I brought this mobile for 5200 INR in Bangalore, India. The optical tack pad is superb, i have never experienced such a good feeling for a low end set like this.
It has wi-fi also. Slim and light weight mobile, which is a top perfomer. Only dis advantage of this phone is it doesn't support microsoft exchange server email.
I should say its a steal for this price."

"The qwerty keyboard is great, it has plenty of features to keep you entertained, and it has WIFI!!! The trackpad is but the speakers were shocking. Could have a better mic too. Good for a first phone though."

"Good phone that is badly let down by the inability to turn off the 'sent text' tone.
Every text that gets sent, is followed by a very annoying 'tuneful' tone. No chance of texting on the quiet unless you change your phone to 'silent' before every single text you send.Then you need to remember to switch back or you wont hear when you receive a text. It's a nuisance to have to faff about like this.
Incredibly annoying and judging by the amount of complaints on the net about this, many people feel the same.
I would probably not have bought the phone had I known this in advance."

"I've had my Chat 335 for about 2 months now and the other day the Twitter app would not connect and would sometimes crash and basically reboot the phone, which was quite annoying. However I managed to fix it by resetting the phone (I had to back up all of my files). And today no sound was coming from the headphones or speaker so I had to restart the phone then it worked.
A great phone - WiFi is very useful, comes with MSN, yahoo, flickr etc, camera quality isn't bad.
However I was quite disappointed that I had only had the phone for 2 months before I had encountered 2 issues, which luckily I managed to fix, but makes me worry that there will be more faults in the future, as I don't plan to have to buy ANOTHER new phone anytime soon."

"I was impressed with the phone for the first few months. Easy to use features, wifi, and a qwerty keyboard help create a great phone. But then after a bit the phone really started to slow down, with texting being reduced down to 10 words a minute and the trackpad completely freezing sometimes for hours at a time leaving me unable to do anything."

"I was very happy with the price and the design, however when I came to actually use the phone, it displays websites incorrectly, it flashes when it is on lock and it crashes when I try to use facebook. It also does not let me use the samsung app store."

"At first I loved this phone it was amazing, easy to use and amazing speakers. Now a few months down the line 12 of the keys on the keyboard dont work, every time i do into the video menu it crashes and i have to take the battery out and put it back in and the speakers dont work...

"I am going to keep this review simple.
This phone is very average. Some good features and quite a few bad.
The Good:
The are some good apps available for download but internet access is required for samsung apps. There are facebook, twitter, msn and Yahoo apps already downloaded for you but they aren't very good as i will say later. Optical track pad is a good idea but nowhere near as good as a blackberry. A dictionary is on there for you and also the last good thing is it is comfortable to hold and looks stylish.
The Bad:
The track pad is good but doesn't work sometimes and is very jittery on the internet (instead of moving smoothly it take steps.) The keyboard is not the best in the world, it is not very responsive and sometimes awkward to use. The facebook app that is downloaded is good but always asks to go on the internet version and if you try to download the app off the internet then it still doesnt work. Internet is needed to download apps and you have to pay for them. Sometimes people accidentally send texts and the phone allows you to cancel sending but not on this phone. The cancel button comes up but when you click it, nothing happens! How fantastic. Also the phone decides to turn itself off and reboot sometimes and i am not the only one who has had this problem. Another annoying thing about this phone is that it FREEZES! The most annoying thing that could happen while half way through a text. Also predictive text comes up with the most ridiculous words i have ever seen.

"i bought this phone after having the genio, and within 2 months of having it the trackpad broke. sent it back and they could not fix it so they replaced it with a new one. after using that it broke once again after only 5 weeks. im still currently using my genio which seems to be a much more reliable phone as this has been though alot, even dropped in glasses of juice and it still works. would not recommend as it is an unreliable phone"

"This phone is supposed to support mp4, doc, txt, pdf and xls file formats, but it does NOT. You can read the files on the phone via your PC, but the software on the phone will not read these formats. Samsung now seem to be trying to airbrush the fact that the phone is supposed to be able to do this from their documentation. I'm very annoyed about this."

"I purchased 2 of these phones 1 black 1 white for my son's for Christmas and they have caused noting but grief since. The phones look great feel great but the main reason I choose this phone was Wifi Compatable well I have spent day's going to shops that sell phones to try and help but it's nothing to do with the Wifi connection it's connected but it will not let you access the internet ?? Also the apps are very poor ,Whatts app or Viber are not compatible with these phones :-( 1 son just uses it for texting the other son has not even used it so it sits in its box ."

"Got the Samsung Ch@t 335 from a supermarket chain, had the 'phone a month and it stopped working. Sent off to repair centre as instructed by supermarket only to have it sent back still not working with a message that water had corroded internal parts. This 'phone was needed in the UK in winter and a little rain destroyed it immediately. Not a good thing if you were hoping to rely on it for being able to contact people in emergencies like a break down etc. If I had been scuba diving with it in my trunks I might understand but I was using it in the street in the UK. UK weather is often cold and wet but this 'phone cannot cope with UK weather so my advice is steer clear of it unless you live in a warm dry climate. Do not take this out in the rain to text someone for a lift as you may find it never works again. One month of use and it dies - what can I say. I feel it was a complete waste of money and am left using my sim card in an old 'phone that has lasted years - no exciting features but it has been out in the rain many times and still serves me.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"This phone lures you in with positive specs, the look of it, the wifi and that apparently value for money price, but don't be fooled! The area that lets this phone down most is the the fundamental purpose of being a phone. It is extremely poor at maintaining signal. I do not get a signal at work or at home, yet my previous phone had a strong signal everywhere with the same SIM card on the same network. If I can't make or receive calls or texts, it effectively useless to me. The reasons that I "upgraded" were to benefit from the wifi and hopefully longer battery life from a new battery on a newer model of phone. If you remember the days of dial-up internet, that is about how fast this phone is online, if you are lucky. Also, many webpages won't display due to lack of memory. It feels like this phone really struggles with processing the data to cope with basic surfing. The battery life is slightly worse than the 5 year old phone it replaced. I have had Samsung products in the past, all of which I have been very pleased with, but this phone is a real let down. On the bright side, the music player and radio are good. Overall I feel I have wasted my money."

"I sometimes use text messages but Samsung have decided which words can be used for texting purposes. If the word is not in their dictionary you cannot use it. There is no way I have found of adding words to the dictionary.
