A great phone once you understand it!

I would recommend this to a friend!
"I am a keen walker and have often thought it would be nice to have a phone that could cope with a bit of knocking about. I also loathe touch-screens. The Solid Xcover is not a smartphone and is not the device to go web surfing on, other than for a bit of emergency googling, but it delivers email access and all the basics with a fabulous battery life. I love the very usable torch (the real McCoy, not just a brightening of the display) and the fact that it delivers FM radio without headphones on a speaker that is sufficiently powerful for bedside table duty in the mornings!
I see from other reviews that people have struggled with this phone. Just to point out: a micro-sd card of up to 16GB can be fitted inside the phone, under the battery and that once in, you can transfer your pictures via data cable providing you set the connectivity to mass data instead of the default "Samsung Kies". Or you install said Kies programme on your PC and do it that way.
I'm not surprised others have struggled: the physical manual is of minimal value and Samsung's own site is not that good at delivering information such as the above. I only found out by a lot of poking about!"
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, genuinely useful torch, not touchscreen
Cons: needs a much better user manual

Love it! Dont have to worry about being careful

Posted18 July 2012
"I'm a gardener and this phone is fantastic. I was constantly worried about my phone being broken, knocked, getting muddy etc before, but now I can trust this samsung to stay undamaged. A little heavy, but then I think that is a good thing .. you know its in your pocket. Some features aren't ideal, such as the send button when texting is easy to press when perhaps you're not ready. But other then that v,pleased."
Pros: Durable
Cons: Not high def

Very good product

"Excellent, rugged phone suitable for elderly like myself as the screen is easily read and the keys are large enough to use. Like most phones these days the user guide is limited in information as to how to use the built in technology . Why cant we have an accessable "How to do it guide" for those that dont understand GPRS settings, URL's etc."
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color

"Bought this to throw in the glove box for emergencies. It's unbreakable, simple, and as it's 2g only the battery life is amazing, over 40 days on standby! Nice loud speakerphone. Rock solid."

Excellent for outdoors

Posted22 March 2012
I would recommend this to a friend!
"I used to have a nice touch-screen phone - great if you sit in an office all day. I don't, I do spend a lot of time in an office, but I also spend a lot of time outside exposed to the elements and I need to use my phone out there. My touch-screen was useless, but this is great. Simple to use, all the functions I need without a load of useless stuff taking up space. Love it. And the price was great too. I recommend this to anybody who works outside."
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

FAULTY

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"Having owned this nearly 8 months now has been working fine although the speaker quality while in a call is dreadful , and to send or receive photos , you have to turn the phone off and on again to jolt it, now the other problem is that it thinks it is connected either to the wall charger or the usb on the pc even when its not , and says its charging all the time, then if you turn it off with battery fully charged , it will not turn on again unless you connect it to the wall charger, so all in all not a very good product."
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality

XCover C3350 Extremely Confusing!!

Posted01 November 2012
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"When I first got the phone I was excited because I wanted something rugged, chunky, hardwearing, retro looking but with all the features, lots of memory, internet ready, decent camera. The phone came with a 16gb sd card, but there's nowhere to put it? I can't send images attached to text messages as it says I don't have enough memory, but a 8gb sd card is sitting inside it? Getting the internet is ok due to the kind of phone it is, its not set out on the screen like the smartphones are, but it still logs on ok.
The main bugbear for me is the lack of memory? Why have an 8gb memory card inside it if you can't use it? I can't get the phone to recognise that its there? Why give me a 16gb sd card when there's nowhere to put it??
Disappointed."
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: Not high def, Did not meet expectations

"Clunky phone with clunky features. Forget the camera as it's impossible to download your photos -no driver software to be found anywhere after 4 hours searching. All in all, a disappointment."
Pros: Durable
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, no camara drivers
