No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"I bought this camera because it had similar specs to my old camera but a ton of more features. I really liked everything this camera had to offer as far as picture effects but the first day I used it it started to freeze on me. I had known this was an issue with this camera because I saw it as in issue on other reviews. It only happened a couple times over the next few weeks so I ignored it because I didn't want to deal with the hassle of returning it and waiting for it to be fixed or replaced etc. Well, I took it to Thailand over Christmas and it would not stop freezing. The worst part is when it freezes, you have to take the battery out to get it to react and whatever picture you just took before it froze is never saved. As you can imagine, when you are on a once in a lifetime trip to a country you will never go to again, losing every other minute to wait for your camera to be functioning again can mean you miss the photo opportunity. There also seems to be something wrong with the zoom and when i turn it on sometimes it says I need to turn it off and take out the battery and turn it on again/or contact the retailer. I DO NOT RECOMMENCED this camera. The features do not make up for the fact that it does not work half the time."
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, horrible product
