With the Samsung BD-ES5000 Blu-ray Player, you can access all your movies, music and photos easily. AllShare Play allows you to wirelessly connect, sync and stream content from compatible Samsung PCs and compatible Samsung mobile devices, as well as monitor calls and messages. Thanks to the BD-ES500’s USB connectivity, you can also access a wide range of content on USB memory drives and sync external hard disc drives. What’s more, built-in Wi-Fi Direct technology lets you quickly and easily share and upload content from other devices straight onto your TV screen.

I would recommend this to a friend!
"A very compact player, it can fit almost anywhere you like and it has no fans so it is also very silent. Connectivity options are enough for most users: optical out, usb, lan. I have not had any problems with blu-ray discs and the quality of the picture and sound is excellent. Plastic body feels sturdy and high quality, except for the top which is textured and not so much a fingerprint magnet, the rest of the player is glossy. Remote control is small with big buttons so it feels great in your hand. One downside is that it does't have a display just a single led that is lit in standby. Front panel buttons are touch.
I highly recommend this product."

bug ridden and slow to start, often just freezes

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"Not only does it take forever to start up, it is incredibly slow to respond to the remote control. Plus on some DVDs after playing a clip, it will just freeze and do nothing for minutes at a time.
Totally incompatible with any recent bluray disk. avoid this product like the plague."
