No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"My LAN internet connection is on/off depending on whether you inadvertently move the laptop or connector. Neither the connection to the Samsung 9 laptop, nor the socket for the standard LAN RJ45 plug are tight and secure. You have to juggle it until it works, then avoid any further movement. Maybe it's just the one I got with the laptop. I've requested a replacement but am not hopeful it will be any better because the design appears to be inadequate. There appears to be no other LAN cable that plugs directly into the tiny LAN port on the laptop so that I can cut this device out. I suppose I will have to fork out for a local wireless access point. A disappointing aspect of an otherwise great laptop."
